Excavating vs Grading
While excavating and grading are both earth work and move around soil, they are different. Here's how:
Excavation
Excavating includes the removal of debris and any digging that is required for a project. For example, if you need a French drain, we would clear the project area and strategically dig out the pathway. Oftentimes, excavation is considered site prep for a project.
Grading
Grading, on the other hand, refers to moving soil around to create a level surface. In the landscaping industry, we often grade post-construction. This flat grade is a perfect canvas for us to begin planting and laying sod.
